In February 2002, eBay purchased IBazar which is also an auction website founded in 1995. Then it also acquired Paypal on October 14, 2002. In the beginning of 2008, eBay expanded worldwide and the registered users count increased to millions. There were 15,000 employees and revenues of almost $7.7 bn. At the end of 2009, eBay sold Skype for $2.75 bn, but retained a 30pc stake.
